As a Home Cloud

• Note: Support for managing RAID storage will be available in FreedomBox in first half of 2026.

As a Home Automation Hub

• Setup Home Assistant to control your home.
• View status of, control, and automate temperature, water irrigation, door entry, water leaks, window blinds, lights, human presence, etc. from a single dashboard via browser or mobile app.
• Note: Additional hardware such as USB dongle for Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Thread support may be needed depending on the hardware you wish to control.

As a Desktop Computer

Fully Capable

• 16GB RAM, sufficient to host the most demanding home server apps.
• 512GB storage sufficient for all apps and minimal amount of user storage.
• Two hard disk drives slots are available.
• This machine can be upgraded to FreedomBox 2TB, FreedomBox 8TB or more by adding hard drives to it and setting up RAID.
• Two 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports to set up in front of a Wi-Fi router.
